The Albatros: This is a relatively new and demanding European course from the early 90's designed by Hubert Chesneau and B. Von Hagge. The objective was to blend a traditional links course with the modern "target golf" concept including water hazards in an area around the Chateau of Versailles. The expert shaping of the greens in relation to the incoming shot and the limited elevations make this course very different and interesting to play. The course has been highly rated and is now the home of the annual French Open. From the tips the course is rated 77.2 with a slope of 148....(the handicaps indicated here may not be accurate. I will attempt to confirm them in the future.)
Max Deshamps has used the APCD to recreate this unusual course for all of us. It may be downloaded for free from the Links Corner.
